Malaysia does not allow trademarks that are:
Offensive, scandalous, or misleading
Confusingly similar to existing trademarks
Against public interest or national security
Descriptive of the product or service itself
Not visually representable
REGISTRATION PROCESS
1. Trademark Search
We run a thorough check on the MyIPO database to ensure your mark is available and reduce the risk of rejection.
2. Application Submission
We prepare and file your application with the Malaysian Trademark Office.
3. Examination & Objection
MyIPO examines the application. If objections arise, we advise and respond on your behalf.
4. Publication & Opposition
If passed, your mark is published in the government gazette. Third parties have 3 months to raise objections.
5. Approval & Certification
Once approved, you’ll receive an official Certificate of Registration. Your trademark is now protected for 10 years.
6. Renewal
We remind and assist you in renewing your trademark every 10 years to keep your protection valid indefinitely.
